Empire of the Sun is war film in which he is an unpleasant blackmarketeer. He gives a very good performance in the dapatation of the historical drama Dangerous Liaisons. The Object Of Beauty is a film where he is part of couple living beyond their means that turns into an insurance scam. In The Line Of Fire is more of political thriller playing opposite Clint Eastwood. In Con Air a group of prisoners take over a prison transport place, in an over the top action film. In Rounders he is a Russian gangster set around poker games. Being John Malkovich is a strange film in which a pupetter can take people into John Malkovich's mind. This was followed by the horror/fantasy Shadow Of The Vampire. In Johnny English he gives another comic performance this time as a Frenchman. Burn After Reading is a comedy/drama from the Coen brothers. In Changeling he the person campaigning to help the woman incarcerated for saying that the child claimimg to be her kidnapped son is not her son.
